About KCSM

For Kershaw County students — on every campus, every week.

WHAT WE DO

Released Time Bible Education

KCSM is a local chapter of School Ministries, Inc. — a national nonprofit dedicated to bringing the Gospel to public school students through Released Time Bible Education (RTBE).

During the school day, participating students are released from campus to attend Bible class at a nearby facility — legal, constitutional, voluntary, and 100% privately funded.

  • Off-campus classes — never held on school property. Students walk or ride to a nearby location.
  • Completely voluntary — always requires written parental permission. No pressure, ever.
  • Zero taxpayer dollars — 100% privately funded by churches, businesses, and individuals.
  • Protected by the U.S. Supreme Court since Zorach v. Clauson (1952).

OUR VALUES

What We Stand For

📖

Bible-Based

Students study Scripture academically and devotionally — learning life application and developing a personal walk with Christ.

⚖️

Legal & Constitutional

We operate fully within the law, in cooperation with Kershaw County schools. Always transparent. Always approved.

🏘️

Community-Funded

100% privately funded by local churches, businesses, and individuals. No government money. Ever.

🙏

Gospel-Centered

Everything points students to Jesus Christ — His death, resurrection, and redemption — with clarity and love.

❤️

Student-First

Every student is made in the image of God and has infinite worth. We meet them where they are and show them they are loved.

🤝

Church Partnership

KCSM extends the local church — partnering with congregations across Kershaw County so every student has a church family.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Statement of Belief

We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential. Salvation is a gift received by grace alone through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection. We believe God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and banish the unrighteous to eternal punishment.
