Statement of Faith

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Statement of Faith

These are the historic truths of the Christian faith that we affirm, teach, and proclaim to the students of Kershaw County.

Statement of Belief

We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential. Salvation is a gift received by grace alone through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection. We believe God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and banish the unrighteous to eternal punishment.

Statement of Faith

We accept and proclaim the historic truths of the Christian faith:

God and the Human Race

The Lord our God is one: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created us in His own likeness, conferring dignity and worth on every human being. We are a fallen race — and the Father showed His holy love by giving Jesus Christ that sinners might be put right with God through faith in Him.

The Scriptures

The Old and New Testaments are God-breathed, fully trustworthy, and our highest authority for faith and life. The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God — the sole and final source of all we believe.

Jesus Christ

We confess Jesus Christ as Lord and God — truly human and fully divine; sinless; the only Mediator and Savior, dying on the cross for us, risen from death, ascended to the Father, and one day returning in glory.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, calls sinners to repentance and faith, through the new birth makes us partakers in the risen life of Christ, illuminates Scripture, and empowers believers for service.

The Church & Its Mission

We recognize the Church as the body of Christ. We acknowledge Christ's commission to proclaim the Good News to all people, make disciples, and teach them to obey Him until He comes again.
